Tom joins last year’s BTCC Champion Jake Hill along with Matt Neal, Andrew Jordan, Gordon Shedden and Colin Turkington as drivers who have chosen Cobra Seats and won the BTCC Drivers Championship.
That means that drivers using Cobra Seats have won eleven of the last fifteen BTCC drivers championships.
Huge congratulations also to Tom’s team EXCELR8 Motorsport/Team VERTU who won the Manufacturer/Constructor title. A great team effort – not just by the drivers – Tom Ingram (who also picked up the Goodyear Wingfoot Award), Adam Morgan, Tom Chilton and Senna Proctor, but by everyone behind the scenes who helped put the Hyundai i30N’s at the top of the tree.
That means that teams using Cobra Seats have won fourteen of the last sixteen BTCC Manufacturer/Constructor titles!
… and the celebrations don’t end there! Congratulations to Daryl DeLeon who won the Jack Sears Trophy in his WSR BMW 330i M Sport just pipping fellow WSR driver Charles Rainford to the title by three points after a dramatic final day which saw the fortunes fluctuate wildly: In Race 1 Daryl claimed pole only for his engine to fail before the start of the race, then in Race 2 an early puncture put Charles out of the race. Both drivers completed a nervy Race 3 with Charles finishing 11th and Daryl 13th ... just enough to secure the trophy.
