CONGRATULATIONS TO ODI BACHIS.
Cobra Seats' involvement in USA motorsport goes back decades and we are proud to congratulate the latest driver to add to our impressive CV in the States: one of our Formula Drift Pro Drivers, Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis, won the final round of the USA Formula Drift season to claim third overall in the 2021 eight-round championship.
It’s the third time that Odi has claimed third spot in the Championship, having also claimed third step on the Championship podium in 2017 and 2019 (he must like odd numbers!)
Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis won the final round of the Formula Drift season in Irwindale, California on October 23rd. The first place finish marked Odi’s 9th career win and his third win this season. The impressive results landed Bakchis 3rd overall in the 2021 eight-round championship (see what we mean about his love of odd numbers!).
Bakchis qualified second on Friday night at the legendary “House of Drift” in his Falken Tyre Feal Suspension Nissan S15. The high qualification rewarded Odi with a bye run in the Top 32 tandem competition. He then battled against Jeff Jones in the Top 16, Chris Forsberg in Top 8, and Falken Tyre teammate and co-star of “Frenemies” video series Matt Field in the Final 4. Bakchis was paired with Frederic Aasbo in the finals and the superb lead and chase runs resulted in a unanimous win.
2021 also marked Bakchis’ inaugural season as a multi-car team owner and operator. Evan Bogovich piloted the Feal Suspension Nissan S14 with Bakchis Motorsports for his rookie ProSpec season.
Bakchis has plans to continue the S15 platform and multi-car team into the 2022 season. He thanked his teammates, family, and sponsors – including Falken Tires, Lucas Oil and Cobra Seats for the successful season.
