“Cobra drivers” enjoy a great day at Thruxton.

A huge crowd at Britain’s fastest circuit enjoying the spring weather witnessed a great weekend for drivers using Cobra seats as Thruxton played host to Rounds 7, 8 and 9 of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

The best attended Saturday practice this century witnessed a fascinating battle for pole, with Sam Tordoff nudging Dan Cammish into second on the grid, with Andrew Jordan (fully recovered from that horrendous side impact last time out) in third and Colin Turkington in fourth.


Drivers using Cobra seats take top podium position in all three races!

The rain Gods again caused mischief at qualifying for the latest round of the British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park, with poor weather and red flags dominating proceedings.

Not that “Cobra driver” Colin Turkington seemed to mind: Despite losing a lap time for exceeding track limits, Colin was still able to register the fastest time and take the 18th pole of his career by a whopping 0.6 of a second, although incredibly it was Turk’s first pole for two years!

The 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship kicked off at Brands Hatch with “Cobra drivers”, Andrew Jordan and Rory Butcher both claiming top step on the podium and BMW and Honda ending the day sharing the lead in the Manufacturers Championship.
